Display Called Back to Ocean City to Create
Town Hall Displays
-- City Hall Renovations Include
Permanent Displays Highlighting
Town’s Rich History and Culture --
BALTIMORE, MD, January 23,
2008 -- Adler Display (adlerdisplay.com),
a nationally known and award-winning leader in visual
communications, has returned to Ocean City, Maryland
at the request of its mayor for a town hall project that combines
words and images to showcase the area’s rich history.
As part of the
renovation plans for City Hall, Adler Display was
commissioned to design and create 14 display boards for the
municipal building that highlighted spectacular bird's-eye views of
local landmarks, the town's officials, its popular Sunfest and the
history of Ocean City and its City Hall. 10
of the 14 display boards are in place with the remaining ones to be
installed in March.
Adler Display first came to Ocean City when it
fabricated displays for the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum.
Ron Adler,
the display company's president, says, "The mayor walked into the
museum and saw the many different displays and exhibits that we
created there. So when the time came to do renovations at the town
hall, we got the call."
Representing Life and History
Working with Suzanne Hurley, the curator of the Ocean City
Life-Saving Station Museum, Adler Display produced the town hall
panels with an overall goal of helping visitors to get a vivid and
comprehensive picture of Ocean City.
Another important aspect of the project was preserving history by
ensuring that the materials used in the displays, as well as their
surroundings, recalled the building’s origins as a school. This was
accomplished by working with Ocean City's staff and officials in
choosing wall colors and lighting, for example. It has been
reported, the mayor is ecstatic.
