Earlier this week, one Tuesday, September 11th, Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake joined the Director of the Walters Art Museum to preside over the unveiling of the painting Tullip Folly at City Hall. This was just the first of several unveilings planned to take place as part of the new outdoor exhibition project, Off the Wall, a project put on by the Walters Art Museum in conjunction with the Department of General Services and the Department of Recreation and Parks and produced by Adler Display.

About Tullip Folly:
Jean-Leon Gérôme illustrates an incident during the “tulipomania,” or the craze for tulips, that swept the Netherlands and much of Europe during the 17th century. The tulip, originally imported from Turkey in the 16th century, became an increasingly valuable commodity. By 1636/7, tulipomania peaked, and, when the market crashed, speculators were left with as little as 5 percent of their original investments. In this scene, a nobleman guards an exceptional bloom as soldiers trample flowerbeds in a vain attempt to stabilize the tulip market by limiting the supply.
About Off the Wall:
Over the next several weeks, 22 total high-quality reproductions of vintage pieces from the Walters Art Museum will be popping up around Baltimore in museum-quality frames. These reproductions are printed on weather-resistant vinyl, ensuring that these pieces withstand the elements and bring joy to the people of Baltimore.
These reproductions will be on display November 2012 through April 2013 at the businesses, parks and community spaces listed on the map below. The art moves to new locations every six months, so visit thewalters.org for the latest downloadable map and keep your eyes peeled for new entries!

Customer Testimonial
“I’m writing to tell you that the design and installation of the Mary Catherine Bunting Donor Wall is beautiful. Your team did a great job and their professionalism was very much appreciated by the Pastoral Care Department as well as the Development Office. I especially wanted to point out that Andy Davenport was an accommodating and client-oriented project manager and that designer Piotr Wolff did an extremely creative job of bringing to fruition a stately yet welcoming recognition piece.
I look forward to working with Adler Display on future projects. Thank you again.”

Originally designed by Howard Adler in the late 1950’s, Frontier Town in Ocean City, Maryland is one of the last remaining Western theme parks in the United States. Frontier Town was the brain child of Bill Patton and Bill Pacey, Maryland business owners and entrepreneurs who envisioned Ocean City as a popular family destination, well before it became one.
To bring this dream to life, those involved hired Howard Adler and Adler Display to design and create the park and its themed displays. This included:
“I remember when my dad used to take us there (Frontier Town),” said Howard’s son, Ron Adler, the current owner of Adler Display. “Today it’s just like I remember, but it seemed so much bigger when I was little.”
"C'mon down folks"... to our replica western town circa 1860 situated alongside of Frontier Town Campground and only 5 minutes from Ocean City, Maryland. Git yerself ready for a trip back into America's Wild West with all its purdy nostalgia and tons of colorful characters! Return with us to them days of yesteryear and live a day in the life of a rootin' tootin' cowboy, an earth-poundin' Indian Chief or a high steppin' Can Can gal. Browse 'bout the quaint western gift shops, chow down in the town's eateries or jus' rest yer doggies a spell and let the youngins romp 'round while you lose yerself in the thick atmosphere of the Ol' West. http://www.frontiertown.com/western-theme-park/
We at Adler Display are proud to have been a part of the park’s creation and thank those who have taken such good care of our original displays over these past 50 years!
“Every time I visit, I am happy to see that much of my dad’s work is still being enjoyed,” said Ron Adler.
